“Back Home” by Clapton is out now
29 August 2005
Eric Clapton has released his new album internationally entitled “Back Home” today after a long wait.
For the first time, this album features new and original music not present in his former pop albums.
Clapton’s concerts always feature amazing guitar works to contest with today’s best lead guitarists. This British singer/songwriter’s distinctive style is still shown in his new album.
Back Home is a song about Clapton’s happiness. He was happy for having a home, where his wife and three little girls are waiting for his return.
Ballad and reggae, his two old tricks, are prevalent in the album. The album tracks are: So Tired, Say What You Will, I’m Going Left, Love Don’t Love Nobody, Love Comes to Everyone, Revolution, Lost and Found, One Day, Piece of My Heart, Run Home to Me, Back Home and One Track Mind.
Five of 12 songs are collaborations of Clapton and Simon Climie, a co-producer, keyboardist, and programmer. Back Home is the only song written by Clapton. Others are by Stevie Wonder and Syreeta Wright, Jefferson and Simmons, George Harrison, Doyle Bramhall II and Stacey, Vince Gill and Beverly Darnall, and Bramhall II, Melvoin, and Elizondo.
It can be recalled that Clapton was once a member of the Cream, a British blues-rock band in the late 1960s. The group was composed of Jack Bruce, bassist and vocalist; Ginger Baker, drummer; and Clapton, guitarist and also a vocalist. Their sound was hard and psychedelic rock. Clapton ranked fourth in the list of “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in Rolling Stone magazine.
